Short Story/Life Update
I was under the sink last Saturday, halfway convinced I was about to invent a new form of indoor waterfall. The leak had been slow for weeks, the kind of thing you tell yourself you’ll fix “tomorrow.” I’d already used every wrench I owned, plus one I borrowed from a neighbor who swore it was “lucky.” Lucky, it turns out, for making me question every decision that led to this moment.
Somewhere between tightening a fitting and muttering under my breath, I realized how much of life is like this — little problems we ignore until they demand attention. You can’t rush it. You’ve got to work slowly, make adjustments, and accept that you’ll probably get wet. And maybe that’s okay.
Song Recommendation
“Hurricane” – The Band of Heathens
There’s something about the way they play it — the slow, relentless groove — that reminds me you can stand in the storm if you keep your footing. I put it on after the repair job, which held for a solid six hours.
Humor
What did one sink say to the other? “You look drained.”
I’ll be here all week.
Exit
Catch me live this Friday — I promise there will be no leaks in the sound system.
